Doctrinal statement

The doctrinal basis of the CPC shall be the fundamental truths of Christianity, including:

The unity of the godhead, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The sovereignty of God the Father in creation, providence, revelation and final judgment.

The divine inspiration of Holy Scripture, and following from that, its trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct; there is no error in all that it affirms; the Bible speaks with absolute authority, including its teaching about history, the cosmos and nature.

The universal and total depravity and guilt of fallen man, rendering him subject to God's wrath and condemnation.

Christ alone is truly God and man. He is the only mediator between God and man. There is salvation through no other gospel, person or process. The sinner is redeemed through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and is justified by grace, not through works, but through faith in Him. Christ's virgin birth, his sinless life, his bodily resurrection, his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and his personal return.

The bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believers unto eternal life, and of those who are lost unto eternal judgment.

The work of God the Holy Spirit, who enlightens the mind, works regeneration and indwells the believer, enabling him to live a holy life and to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

The priesthood of all believers, who, together, constitute the universal church, the body of Christ, of which He is the head, and which, by his command, is called to worship and serve God in the world, to proclaim and defend his truth, to exhibit his character, and to demonstrate the reality of his new order (his Kingdom) by their lifestyle.
